Glenn W. Peterson

You may have seen Glenn on Fox News or Dayside with Linda Vester,
or read about him in the Wall Street Journal. He's one of the
country's experts concerning music downloading issues.
As a
business litigation attorney, Glenn handles cases involving a
variety of subjects, with strong emphasis on intellectual
property and franchise matters. Before relocating to Sacramento
from Los Angeles in 1989, Glenn practiced with a nationally
known insurance defense firm based in Chicago.
He has handled cases involving all aspects of insurance and
business litigation, with primary emphasis on business torts,
trademark/copyright infringement and franchise controversies,
including alleged violations of franchise investment laws. He
has also handled many professional conduct cases, including
quasi-criminal actions brought by government agencies, sexual
harassment claims, malpractice suits, and administrative
proceedings brought against licensed professionals such as
realtors, appraisers, contractors, and notaries.
He has also handled large investigations relating to FTC
violations, insurance fraud, employee embezzlement, and related
claims.
Representative Cases Cases of interest include:

alter ego suit against a California state senator for unpaid
debts of his reelection campaign;

a
federal copyright and unfair competition suit on behalf of the
late rap artist Tupac Shakur;

defense of fitness magnate Joe Weider's company in a
franchising dispute;

a
malpractice action versus a Wall Street securities firm on
behalf of a bay area city;

defense of criminal copyright infringement claims; and
-
embezzlement suit against former agent of a major league
outfielder for the San Diego Padres.
