In Commerce Launches its First Of Its Kind Inventors Training
Program
(Rocklin,
CA January 27, 2003) Patents in Commerce (PIC),
a private/public partnership announces the launch of its landmark
invention commercialization training program. This process-driven
nationwide program guides innovators and inventors through
all aspects of the invention process from idea creation,
through successful commercialization of an invention. This
first-of-its-kind training program emphasizes environmentally
sound innovation, and is committed to delivering the best
innovation development training across the entire spectrum
of industries and technologies.
According
to Andy Gibbs of PatentCafe "More than 6 million inventors
and small business innovators visited PatentCafe.com last
year, and the #1 innovator's Question was: "What do I do next?"
What took a full page to explain can now be summed up much
better in just 3 words: "Patents In Commerce"
"The
trap that so many inventors and small business people have
so much passion and energy that they approach development
with a READY-FIRE-AIM approach! What Patents in Commerce can
do is lead them through READY-AIM-FIRE and increase their
chances for success" says Mary Wollesen of the
Sierra College Small Business Development Center.
The Patents
in Commerce Training Series is offered nationwide through
an innovative distance training program that enables inventors
to learn at their own pace and their own site as they step
through a logical, sequential program designed to assist them
in protecting and commercializing their inventions successfully.
Training sessions are filmed once a month before a live-audience
of inventors, for ten consecutive months, and are distributed
to participants on DVD or VHS. Each session provides the information
and materials the inventor needs to reach the next stage of
development of his or her invention.
The series,
which features more than 24 world-class invention and small
business industry leaders as trainers, contains over 30 hours
of training and exposes the would-be inventor or small business
entrepreneur to the various aspects of product development;
patenting, business invention economics, manufacturing, licensing
and product marketing that are needed to effectively develope
and commercialize an invention.
Bob DeMatteis
of From Patents to Profit says, "Patents in
Commerce's training will teach innovators, entrepreneurs and
small businesses how to launch and protect their ideas in
a fraction of the time it takes large corporations, and at
a fraction of the cost."
The PIC
training program will begin filming in February and will be
available to the distance training participants in March 2003.

About
Patents in Commerce
Patents
in Commerce (PIC) was formed as a collaborative partnership
between public and private sector organizations to provide
a worldwide learning resource for inventors and innovators.
Its primary purpose is to supply logical, process-driven training
to nascent inventors with a goal of increasing their success
and thereby creating a positive impact on the economy. Its
mission is to foster invention and innovation of products
and technologies that will better society, life style, and
the environment.
PICs
objective is simple and straightforward. That is
to
train innovators how to successfully develop and commercialize
their new products. Training participants will learn how to
balance their responsibilities to society, the environment
and business stakeholders, while avoiding the hazards, pitfalls,
and questionable invention promoters.
